The Rt Hon. Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP was appointed earlier this year as Minister of State (Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth), with construction included within her extensive portfolio at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). She is a chartered accountant by training and succeeds The Rt Hon. Kwasi Kwarteng MP who held the construction brief for just one month (a record in brevity), succeeding The Rt Hon. Nadhim Zahawi MP (now in charge of the vaccine roll out). Kwarteng now heads up BEIS as Secretary of State – in place of The Rt Hon. Alok Sharma who has taken on preparations for COP26.

 


KHL Group has made changes to its senior management team including the creation of a three-person Executive Group.

Trevor Pease, previously President and Publisher of KHL Group Americas, becomes Chief Operating Officer of KHL Worldwide, and Paul Baker, who was Finance Director, will be Chief Financial Officer. Both will work with company founder and CEO James King as part of the Executive Group.

 


Air-Seal Products Ltd have announced the promotion of three of the company’s “shining stars”. 

Ben Collard has been promoted to General Manager. He joined the company in 2007 and has developed the business’s export work in Ireland and the Middle East. He will now be assisting with the company’s strategic focus. Steve Jones steps up to be Air-Seal’s Export Manager. He joined the company in 2012 and within his first month set up distributors in Chile and Argentina! Steve comments, “I am very much looking forward to being able to travel again rather than making Zoom video calls across the world!” Suzy Grabham has been promoted to Office Manager. Suzy began working with the company in 2007 as a part-time cleaner and has worked tirelessly over the years streamlining Air-Seal’s Admin Office and more recently leading the Sales Support Team looking after regular customers.

 


David Perez has been appointed as GKD Technologies next Chief Executive Officer.

David joins a leading supplier of personnel and machinery safety systems from a similar position with Norm Cyber Ltd. He will work alongside company founder and former CEA President, Nick Ground, who will continue to play a key role in GKD’s future success by driving growth through innovation.
At their latest AGM, the Combined Industry Theft Solutions (CITS) organisation confirmed their leadership for the coming year. The Construction Plant-hire Association’s Legal Manager David Smith continues as Chairman, supported by Vice-Chair Ian Elliott (UK Group Head of Security for Clancy Docwra), the CEA’s Rob Oliver as Treasurer and Faye Coton as Secretary.

 


Dale Camsell, the CEA’s Senior Technical Consultant, has been reappointed as the BSI’s Committee Manager for ISO/TC127/SC1, the international standards group for test methods relating to safety and machine performance. It is a sub-committee of ISO/TC127, Earth-moving machinery. The 5-year agreement underlines the CEA’s continued commitment to supporting international standards making.
